The story about the hotel made of ice and snow
If it is possible to build a hotel of ice in a small village 200km inside the Arctic Circle, which strikes the whole world with amazement, then anything is possible. The story of ICEHOTEL is indeed a fairy tale come true.
The free flowing Torne River is the origin and artery of ICEHOTEL. From the river, the ice of ICEHOTEL is borrowed each year. And it is here, on the river shores in the village of Jukkasjärvi that our story begins.
Cold and darkness as an experience
By the end of the 1980s it was decided to turn things around. Instead of viewing the dark and cold winter as a disadvantage, the unique elements of the arctic were to be regarded an asset. Inspired by the work of visiting Japanese ice artists, in 1990 the French artist Jannot Derit was invited to have the opening of his exhibition in a specially built igloo on the frozen Torne River. The 60 square metre building named Artic Hall attracted many curious visitors to the area.
ICEHOTEL known all over the worldOne night a group of foreign guests, equipped with reindeer hides and sleeping bags, decided it would be a good idea to use the cylindrical shaped igloo as accommodation. The following morning the brave group raved about the unique sensation of sleeping in an igloo. Hence, the concept of ICEHOTEL was born.
A lot has happened since. Today ICEHOTEL is world famous for its unique concept, its fantastic works of art and its extraordinary experiences. The fairy tale nature of ICEHOTEL brings out the child in guests of all ages.

El padre de Stone dijo que el cerdo pesaba 476,6 kg y mide 2,87m desde la punta del hocico hasta la base de la cola. Red Palm Weevil (article taken from the 18th November 2006)
This little pest, believed to have been imported from Egypt 20 years ago, is killing palms trees along the Costa del Sol. Around 1000 trees are believed to have been infested by the weevil, which has no known predators and appears to be immune to insecticide. Once infested, the tree cannot be saved. The weevil then flies onto its next victim.

Este pequeño bicho, que se cree que se ha importado de Egipto hace 20 años, está matando a las Palmeras a lo largo de la Costa del Sol. Se cree que al redador de 1000 arboles, están infestados del gusano, lo cual no tiene predadores y parece estar inmune a los insecticidas. Una vez infectada, la palmera no puede ser salvada. El gusano luego vuela hacia su próxima víctima.

Un hombre en la India se casa con una perra para limpiar su conciencia
En Nueva Delhi un hombre del sur de India se casa con una perra en una tradicional ceremonia Hindú intenta arreglar el apedrear a dos perros hasta matarlos el creía que con este acto podría quitar la maldición que dice que tiene el periódico lo cuenta.
P.Selvakumar se casó con el perro que se llamaba “Selvi” vestido con un Sari antes era un vagabundo, fue elegido por la familia y después lavado y vestido para la ceremonia del domingo en un templo Hindú en el estado sur de Tamil Nadu.
Selvakumar dijo al periódico que él había estado sufriendo desde que él mato a los dos perros a pedradas y los colgó de un árbol a los quince años.
Después de eso mis piernas y mis manos se paralizaron y perdí el oído en una de las orejas ``dijo en el reportaje.
El periódico dijo que un astrólogo le había dicho que la boda era la única forma de detener a la maldición. El periódico no dijo que con el tiempo la situación iba a mejorar.
La gente rural de India son profundamente supersticiosos y a veces organizan bodas con perros y otros animales. Ellos creen algunos tipos de maldiciones.
El periódico enseñó una foto del Selvakamur al lado del perro llevaba puesto un Sari naranja y un collar de flores el periódico dijo al prometido y a la familia de él después de la comida mientras el perro tenía un panecillo. XD
Man in India Marries Dog As Atonement
NEW DELHI (AP) — A man in southern India married a female dog in a traditional Hindu ceremony as an attempt to atone for stoning two other dogs to death — an act he believes cursed him.
P. Selvakumar married the sari-draped former stray named Selvi, chosen by family members and then bathed and clothed for the ceremony Sunday at a Hindu temple in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, the Hindustan Times newspaper said.
Selvakumar, 33, told the paper he had been suffering since he stoned two dogs to death and hung their bodies from a tree 15 years ago.
"After that my legs and hands got paralyzed and I lost hearing in one ear," he said in the report.
The paper said an astrologer had told Selvakumar the wedding was the only way he could cure the maladies. It did not say whether his situation had improved.

WHALE BOGGED DOWN IN SAN PEDRO
On 5 of February, they found a whale of 19.30 meters in Petunia’s Beach in San Pedro de Alcantara. The sample of three tons is the biggest that was bogged down in the Province of Malaga. Unfortunately, the animal died after 5 hours in spite of the volunteer’s efforts.

El día 5 de Febrero se encontró una ballena de 19’30 metros de longitud en la paya sampedreña de las Petunias. El ejemplar de 3 toneladas de peso es el mayor que se ha encallado en la provincia de Málaga. Por desgracia el animal falleció a las 5 horas a pesar de todos los esfuerzos de los voluntarios.
Se llama Thumbelina, tiene cinco años, pesa 27,6 kilos y mide 43 centímetros. No es una nueva raza, tan solo un caballo enano en el seno de una raza de por sí ya pequeña. Nació y vive en San Luis (EEUU) con sus criadores, y a buen seguro que sería la delicia de algunos niños.
Its name is Thumbelina, it is five years old, it weighs 27.6 kg and it measures 43 centimeters. It isn´t a new breed, it is only a small horse in the hearte of the race, it is small breed. It was born and it lives in San Luis (EEUU) with their breeder and it would be a delight for some children.
Los científicos de la Scripps Institution of Oceanography han descrito el que se cree es el pez con espina más diminuto y ligero del mundo. La nueva especie descubierta no es más larga que la punta de un lápiz y vive cerca de Australia. Sólo los científicos conocen seis especimenes.

La historia sobre el hotel hecho de hielo y nieve.
Si es posible construir un hotel de hielo y nieve en un pequeño pueblo 200km dentro del círculo ártico, a todo el mundo le asombra, entonces todo es posible. La historia del hotel de hielo es por supuesto un cuento de hadas que se realizó.
El río Torne es el origen y arteria del hotel. Cada año el hotel coge prestado hielo del río. Esto esta aquí, en las orillas del río del pueblo de Jukkasjärvi la historia empezó.
Frío y oscuridad como una experiencia.
Al final de los años 80 eso fue decidido para dar la vuelta a las cosas. Embez de mirar el invierno oscuro y frío como una desventaja, los elementos únicos del Ártico se miraban como una ventaja. Inspirado por el trabajo de visitas de artistas de hielo japoneses, en 1990 el artista francés Jannot Derit fue invitado para tener una inauguración de su exhibición en un iglú especialmente construido en el río helado. El edificio de 60 metros cuadrados llamado Artic Hall atrae a muchos visitantes curiosos al área.
El hotel conocido en todo el mundo.
Una noche un grupo de huéspedes extranjeros, equipados con piel de reno y sacos de dormir, decidieron que sería una buena idea usar un iglú de forma cilindrada como acomodación. La siguiente mañana el grupo valiente deliró sobre la única sensación de dormir en un iglú. Entonces, el concepto ‘hotel de hielo’ nació. Mucho ha pasado desde entonces. Hoy en día el hotel de hielo es mundialmente famoso únicamente por su concepto, esas fantásticas obras de arte y esas extraordinarias experiencias. El estado de cuento de hada del hotel de hielo lleva a las personas a la infancia.
